"Former Police Magistrate Dies After Long Illness

On Wednesday evening occured the death of Marshall Curtis Goodsill, after an illness of eight months. Mr. Goodsill was born on May 17, 1851, in McHenry county, Illinois, where he spent his boyhood days. Later he lived in Iowa and North Dakota. In 1899 he came to Galesburg, acting for the Russell Miller Milling Company in introducing Occident flour in Illinois. He was elected police magistrate of the city of Galesburg in 1922 and again in 1926.
Several years ago failing health forced him to retire from active business.
Mr. Goodsill was a member of U.T.C., T.P.A., Elks and the A.O.U.W. lodge, in which organization he had for 36 years been a member in Jamestown, North Dakota. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Two sisters live in Des Moines, Iowa. Members of the immediate family include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. R.A. Chandler, of Galesburg, and Mrs. B.P.Heubner, of Madison, Wis., and one son, M.Max Goodsill, of St. Paul."
