Andrews | Please help. As a military buff, I recently came into posession of a yearbook from a U.S. Army field artillery brigade, from 1941. The owner had been a Corporal Colin J. Andrews. I have reason to believe that Colin died in or about the city of Woodstock, in 1979. It is my great desire to place this yearbook into the hands of those who should have it--Corporal Andrews' heirs. However, short of calling all Andrews in the phone book, I have no idea of how to contact those people. Does anyone have any ideas? |

Davis, Peck, McMillen | I am looking for information on the parents and siblings of Stella DAVIS, b. June 1877 in McHenry co. and died sometime after 1924. In 1897, she married Guy C. PECK, b. 1868 in McHenry Co. Stella and Guy had 4 children that I know of, Florence B., b. 1898, Ernest H., b. 1899, May, b. 1902, Bessie, b. 1902. Guy and Stella separated or divorced between 1902 & 1910. By 1910, Guy is living in Cleveland, near family. Stella later went to work as a housekeeper according to the 1920 census, for Henry McMILLEN, b. 1882. Henry McMILLEN's wife Bessie PECK, 1884-1918, died at the age of 34, leaving 6 children behind, which is probably when Stella went to work for the family. Bessie and Guy (Stella's husband) were cousins. In 1924, Stella married Henry McMILLEN. I would like to find out who Stella DAVIS' parents and siblings were. I did have the name William for her father, but that information hasn't been confirmed. |

Roser | I'm looking for any information: birth record, parents names, etc. on a Otto ROSER born in Hebron in McHenry Co on June 27, 1888. Also if there are any city or county directories that might list people living in that area with the last name Roser. This man is my Grandfather. Also if there is a marriage record for Otto as I have him on a census in 1930 listed as divorced - he was then living in WI. He died in Sept of 1938 so my mother was only 4 and we are trying to make some family connection to this man. Other Roser names we found on some funeral plans for Otto are Earl Roser, Elmer Roser, and a Leslie Roser. Thank you any information you can find would be very helpful or if you have any helpful ideas as to how I might find information on this individual that would be most appreciated. |

Daskam, Floyd | John DASKAM and Jane FLOYD are recorded as being married in McHenry Co IL on 23 Sep 1851. As DASKAM-DASCOMB(E) family historian I would like to see if there is any information on these people as they do not fit anywhere in my over 3000 individuals in my DASKAM data file. I can only assume that Jane FLOYD is a precious marriage partner to one of the several John's that lived in IL (whom I have identified) but that their marriage was forgotten by their own families. Perhaps she died soon after their marriage leaving no children. I would like to find a death or cemetery record for her or information of other FLOYDs in the area . Of course, any information defining John DASKAM would also be helpful. Thanks so much for taking time to read this. I will share any information that would help others. Thank you! | Dorothy | 02-16-04 |
Hopp | I decided to post a query on this, my father's birthday... My grandfather, Oscar HOPP, had 3 brothers - Victor, William and Rupert. As far as I know, William married but never had any children. Rupert, who lived in McHenry itself, married late in life and again, never had any children (I remember visiting his home as a child in the late 1950's). But Victor, had children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and probably now great great grand children!! Victor and his wife, Charlotte, had two sons and a daughter, Marie, William and Victor. Marie married and had two sons, Bob & Frank Duffy; William married and had a son, William and Victor married and had 3 sons, Victor, Robert and Russell. I met Bob Duffy in the mid 80's when visiting his mom, Marie. I also met Victor and his son, 'Ter' during this same visit... I would love to get in contact with the descendents of this Hopp family! I have SO MUCH information to share! | Jeannette | 02-15-04 |

Alcock | According to family tradition, my g-g-grandparents, John and Hannah ALCOCK, died within a few days of each other in McHenry, IL, in 1844. They supposedly were buried in the "McHenry" cemetery. Their children all returned to Michigan to live with relatives. Have not been able to find any more information. Would anyone have any idea where in McHenry they could have been buried? Was there an epidemic of some kind during this time, that may have killed both? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. | Nancy | 01-31-04 |
