Hopp, Meriche, Wilkins | I am looking for any descendants of Henry Wilkins, born abt 1844 in Germany, died Nov. 1921 Coral Twp. he is buried in Harmony Cemetery. I belive his wifes name was Mary who died May 1898. Henry is listed as widowed on the 1900 census with sons: Henry b 1878 Johnny b. 1885 Marie b. 1889 Frank b. 1891 Walter b. 1894 Eddie b. 1897 I think he might have had a son named William who married an Emma Hopp. According to the 1900 census he became a citzen in 1862 at the age of 38. On the 1910 census Coral Twp, Henry is listed with son Walter, just above him in a family named John Meriche is his son Eddie who is listed as a nephew. On the 1920 Census, Henry is listed with son John Lillian Wilkins in Hampshire, Kane Co. Most of the these WILKINS were Blacksmiths. I have posted an obit lookup on another site for Henry Wilkins and a Mrs. Henry Wilkins. Belive Frank married a Hulda. Henry, the son, married a Mary. Eddie died in 1922 in a car accident. I am trying to trace what happened to John Wilkins's children: Elmer, Verna, Reubin, Ruby after he left wife Liilian for another woman. John Wilkins died in AR. Found Lillian with children on the 1930 census in DeKalb Co. My brother-in-law, who is the step-great-grandson of Henry Wilkins, is having a Wilkins-Upson reunion in June 2007 in Little Rock, AR. and his family would like to know more about the Wilkins side of the family. Conroy, Duke | A "Brides Mothers Index - St. Patrick's Church, Hartland" which I found in the Genealogy room of the Crystal Lake Public Library lists on page 4 a marriage between "Duke, Elizabeth and Conroy, James." However when I querried the McHenry County Clerk, there was no record of the marrige. Also no information was available at the McHenry Genealogical Society. Anderson, Barnes, Soule, Stewart | My GRX5 grandfather, ISAAC STEWART (1794-1878) and wis wife HULDA CLARK STEWART (1801-1962) are buried in Coral Cemetery. Any one related? I believe Isaac was born in CT but cannot find his parents. Of interest to others: LYMAN STEWART, Isaac and Hulda's son, is listed in the family plot, but I just found a newspaper article that states he and several others were killed by Indians on Humboldt Mountain 15 August 1850. Feabrantz, Trumbo | I am researching my nephew's family. His grandmother, Margaret Feabrantz, was born about 1907 in Illnois. The 1900 US census, McHenry County, IL, Riley Twp, shows (his great grandfather) Charles Feabrantz, 19, born April 1881 IL to a father born in Sweden and a mother born in Germany. Charles lives with his brother August Feabrantz, age 30, who lived with his wife, Florence, and three children. In 1910 Charles Feabrantz, 29, lives with wife, Helen, 25, and three children: Mary 8, Margaret 4 Charles 1 1-2 Interesting that Margaret Feabrantz married a man with the same name as her father and brother-- Charles. Margaret married Charles Trumbo (1907-1987) and resided in Elgin, Kane Co IL. Any research suggestions would be appreciated. |

In the 1860 US Fed. Harmon, Kane, Looby | Seeking information on the immigrant described below. Any information on when he immigrated and from what location in Ireland would be appreciated. I'm willing to share the information I have on his descendants that I currently have. Francis Kane immigrated from Ireland before 1830. Two children were born in the eastern US (Pennsylvania New York states). The next six children were born in Hartland Twp, McHenry County between 1841 and 1849. Francis died 31 Jan 1873. His oldest son was Frank-Francis born 1842. He married Mary Ellen Harmon, daughter of Michael and Ann (Quinn Brown) Harmon, in October 1873. Sometime subsequently the family left McHenry County for Chicago where most of their children lived died. |
