Wwedding picture of Mildred and husband Sidney Sylvester Carney, my great uncle. They were married in Greenwood, McHenry Co. IL. I do not know where and when had they met or where lived between their marriage and their move to Rock Island. In 1925 they moved to Rock Island county where he had been appointment county farm advisor, Mr. Carney came here to assume that capacity Feb. 1, 1925. They got involved in the community. Sidney was member of Elks, Kiwanis, American Legion and Masons and they were members of the First Methodist church of Rock Island. Sidney died July 27, 1928 at Hamlet, Illinois as a result of an automobile accident while on duty as Farm Adviser of Rock Island County. They had no children. I know that Mildred moved to Champaign-Urbana teaching in the public school there according to the 1930 Census record. At some point she remarried Mr. Menard and was living in Nevada when she died 01 Jun 1983.
