M.C. Goodsill
GOODSILL, M.C., of Goodsill Brothers, Merchants, Conway, is a native of McHenry county, Illinois, born May 17, 1851. His youth was spent on the farm and his education obtained in the public schools and in a commercial college, which he attended after he had arrived at man's estate. Came to Conway in January 1879, and has since made it his home. Subject is now managing the large mercantile business of Goodsill Brothers and Anderson, Conway. The firm occupies a handsome building and carries on of the largest stocks of general merchandise in the county. They are also members of the Conway Lumber Company and have an interest in the Conway Mills. Mr. Goodsill is a man of extraordinary business capacity, is industrious, enterprising, and has done much for the upbuilding of the town. In 1877 he married in Mills county, Iowa to Miss Effie Lockwood, a woman of great culture and refinement. They are a very estimable couple and are ready to contribute to those in need, as well as to every worthy enterprise, and posses a pleasant home.
